Eaglecrest Australian Shepherds is a small kennel now located Redmond, Oregon. I, Pat Parker, together with my husband Daryl, founded our kennel with the beautiful Australian Shepherds portrayed on this website. We are dedicated to the awesome Aussie, and strive to continue the legacy of the breed through careful planning and breeding. We breed one or two litters each year, with the goal of producing quality puppies that are structurally sound, and mentally and physically healthy.
Puppies are whelped and raised in the home, with lots of individual attention and socialization. Each pup is evaluated and fitted to its new home to ensure a happy dog and owner. Every puppy comes with a written guarantee.
In 1970, our journey into the wonderful world of Australian Shepherds began in Southern California, with the gift of a beautiful blue merle pup from a rancher friend. Our boy's sire and dam were hardy ranch dogs. Neither was ever registered. We took advantage of the open registration with ASCA at that time. A bent of humor came into play as Daryl chose to name the new addition Parker's “Super Flea”. That created some problems as time went on. One outraged secretary at an Obedience Trial refused to write the name on the paperwork!

In those days, most of our time and attention was involved in raising our children. On the side, we did a little breeding, training, and showing of our horses. Our dogs were wonderful family pets. As the kids grew, so did our assortment of animals with the addition of two more Aussies, and assorted turkeys, chickens, rabbits, goats, pigs, and horses. There were even a couple of cows we fed out on goat milk. The kids were in 4-H!
Our first female Aussie, “Buffy”, was a little, off-color blue merle who was a gem of a dog. She was a tremendous herding dog, smart and quick. Unfortunately, she met with an accident at an early age while bringing in a herd of horses from pasture. Sadly, that ended our herding venture. We purchased a replacement female in Susanville, California . She was another lovely blue merle and we named her Parker's Twinkle Blue. She was a second generation registered dog and produced three lovely litters for us.
Our Aussies lived to a ripe old age in the 1980's, and years passed without a replacement. However, Fleas and Twinks left an indelible impression and something seemed missing without an Aussie or two. Eaglecrest Australian Shepherds came into being with the advent of retirement from the working world. At last there was more time to give attention to this versatile breed. We are committed to producing Australian Shepherds that epitomize the breed standard; healthy, hardy, happy dogs that are great companions, as well as outstanding showing and breeding stock.
